Endangered Species Wildlife Calendar

Objective: To increase awareness of the alarming decline in the number of well-known species of birds and mammals which are becoming increasingly rare in the Goring Gap. Over 70% of the species featured in the 2020 calendar on the ICUN Red or Amber list (International Union for Conservation of Nature) which records threatened species. The conservation status of the 26 birds and animals is displayed on the back of the calendar to provide an insight into the amount of work needed to help slow down, and hopefully reverse, these statistics.

On each page of the month there were photographs of a bird and a mammal seen at that time of the year, along a local landscape taken in the particular month. All the images were taken by local professional photographers, including Steve Gozdz, GG Wildlife Experiences, the design and artwork was provided by Goring’s ActionCOACH (Reading & Wokingham) and the printing by Warmingham & Co. All these services were provided free of charge to GGEO and as a result, 100% of the sales income was donated to BBOWT to support their local work protecting nature and increasing biodiversity.
